NEW HOME FOR GREY FOX ANNOUNCED

It is with great pleasure that we announce the new location for Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival. Grey Fox will take place on a lovely 200-acre farm in Greene County, New York on County Route 22 between the towns of Oak Hill and Durham. Camping at our new home will be 'on the level' with plenty of tent camping in its tree-lined perimeter.

There will be plenty of flat camping space for RV, Pop-Up and Tent Camping.

Below is an Artist's Rendition of Grey Fox as the crow flies overhead. Note how much the festival area looks like a mandolin!

In December of 2007, it became necessary to move the festival due to the sale of the Rothvoss Farm in Ancramdale, which had been the site of bluegrass festivals since 1976. After a two month search in the Hudson River and Catskill regions, we are very pleased with our selection. The deal was completed Friday, February 8. We wish to thank John Walsh and his family, as well as the people of Greene County, for welcoming our event to their land and region. We couldn't be happier.

The Walsh Farm is a magical place (view slideshow of winter images), which from the air looks very much like a mandolin. Bill Monroe would be proud! Speaking of mandolins, we just added Sam Bush for Saturday night to our already spectacular lineup, which includes Hot Rize, Red Knuckles, David Grisman, Del McCoury, Tim O'Brien, Jerry Douglas, and many more. Click here for full lineup.

There is a rich tradition of Irish culture in the communities of Greene County with live music in the region's restaurants and annual Celtic celebrations. Greene County's web site is currently focusing on winter activities, but will change to summer beginning in April.

Oak Hill is conveniently located 20 miles west of Exit 21 of I-87.
45 minutes from Albany (nearest airport)
2.5 hours from NYC.
3 hours from Boston.
5 hours from Buffalo.
5.5 hours from Baltimore.

We hope you'll join us at Grey Fox 2008
