GREY FOX moved to a new home in 2008. The festival is now held on the Walsh Farm in Oak Hill, NY, in Greene County on the northern edge of the beautiful Catskill Mountains.

ON-SITE CAMPING All camping at Grey Fox is camping "in the rough." We do not have water or electrical hook-ups. The camping is flat and grassy. Tents, popups and RVs are welcome. To make the camping area safer and more spacious, we encourage all campers to park vehicles in the car corral (see section below). Also, we ask that you take only the amount of space that you need. Please leave large furnishings at home. Be as economical with space as possible.

"High Meadow Camping" on the west end of the Walsh Farm is available for tent camping without vehicles. On Wednesday all day and Thursday until noon, you will be able to drive up to the end of the gravel road, drop your gear off, and then drive back down to park in the Grey Fox Car Corral. Campers in the "High Meadow" will be eligible to win cool prizes, including a ticket to next year's festival (see below).

WHO CAN CAMP?
Everyone camping at Grey Fox must have a FULL FESTIVAL TICKET. (Kids 12 and under are free.) Camping is included in the full festival ticket. Camping begins Wednesday at noon and ends Sunday evening at 7 pm. See arrival procedures below. We sell only 4000 camping tickets, and since we usually sell out prior to opening day, we strongly suggest getting your tickets early. Camping is only available with the purchase of a FULL FESTIVAL TICKET. Day visitors must leave the premises following the show each night.

WHEN CAN I ARRIVE? Camping at the festival begins at 9:00 am on Wednesday (the day before the music begins). For those wishing to camp nearby earlier, there are options: (1) a group called "The Foxholers" will be camped at a farm about four miles from Grey Fox beginning a week prior to Grey Fox. For information visit the Foxhole Web Site or email Scott. The Foxhole Pickin' Party is a completely separate event, not connected to Grey Fox. (2) For a list of commercial campgrounds nearby, contact Greene County Tourism.

GREY FOX OPENING DAY ARRIVAL PROCEDURES FOR CAMPERS
A. Camping gates will open at 9:00 am Wednesday, July 15. Weather permitting, you'll be able to get your wristband and parking sticker, enter the camping area and start setting up at that time. Do not arrive before 9 am. You may not park along the road, so plan your arrival accordingly. Better yet, relax! Come a little later and avoid the traffic jam. Check out our What to Bring page. Don't forget your ticket confirmation number!

B. There will be 4 general areas for camping: 1) HIGH MEADOW CAMPING for tents without vehicles (see below); (2) QUIET CAMPING (low noise from 10pm to 8am) for tents, pop-ups and RVs not using their generators; (3) PICKERS PARADISE for those who wish to stay up late to pick and/or talk; and (4) GENERATORVILLE for RVs that will be using their generators. Generatorville will be adjacent to Pickers Paradise and close to a shuttle bus stop.

C. Upon arrival, we'll ask you which section you want to camp in and give you a vehicle sticker for that area.

HIGH MEADOW CAMPING: Is in the upper field, closest to the Main Stage. This area is for tents only. Vehicles are not allowed. On Wednesday all day and on Thursday until noon, you will be able to drive up to the turn-around to drop your camping gear off. Then you'll drive down and park in the CAR CORRAL. On Sunday you'll be able to drive up to pick up your gear or you may take the shuttle bus down to your car.

PICKERS PARADISE vs. QUIET CAMPING? Grey Fox is famous for its late-night jamming. Depending on whether you pick late or turn in early, you can set up camp in our Pickers Paradise or Quiet Camping areas once you reach the festival. Quiet camping is quiet from 10pm to 8am Wednesday through Sunday. Please read "Layout Changes" for further information.

RV CAMPERS who will be using their generators will be directed to Generatorville. If you're not going to use your generator during the festival, we will accommodate as many RVs in the general camping area as possible. Camping at Grey Fox is "au natural.". If you need hookups, please visit our Lodging page for links to nearby campgrounds or call Greene County Tourism at 1-800-355-CATS.

D. There will be volunteers in each section to help you find a spot and park efficiently to conserve as much room as possible. Please leave unnecessary and oversized items at home. And be mindful that others need space, too.

E. Campers who arrive on Wednesday may save a reasonable amount of space for friends coming later. Space may be saved until Thursday at 2:00 pm, when the music begins. At that time, others will begin filling in empty spaces. If you need help finding camping space, our Camping Crew will be on hand to assist you.

Got friends coming to camp with you? Once again the good folks at the Milk Run (just one mile from the festival) have offered their 16-acre parking lot for a waiting place. It's a great place to hook up with fellow campers so that you can enter together. The Milk Run is a combination gas station, convenience store and restaurant that serves up some very good food -- located at 3552 Route 145, East Durham, NY 12422, at the corner of Rts 145 and 27.

ABOUT THE CAR CORRAL
Please cut down on the number of cars at your campsite. Make your camp roomier by parking unneeded vehicles in the CAR CORRAL (within easy walking distance from all campsites). After finding a campsite and unloading your stuff, park your car in the Car Corral. In appreciation, you'll be entered to win COOL PRIZES throughout the weekend with a Grand Prize of a FREE CAMPING TICKET to next year's festival. You'll be able to drive your car off site at any time, but not around the festival site until Sunday morning. Good luck!

OTHER STUFF TO KNOW ABOUT:

• No glass. Broken glass, barefoot children and hay farms just don't mix.

• No pets. Sorry, we do not allow pets at Grey Fox. Here is a list of Kennels in the area. Most kennels require up to date shots, so be sure to bring the required documentation with you -- and pet food.

• No open ground fires! Contained cook fires such as hibachis or propane cook stoves are okay. Be prepared! Bring a fire extinquisher and keep it handy.

• Use garbage and recycling bins as marked and please keep your campsite clean. Remember, we're on a farm that produces hay for dairy cows to munch. Dispose of anything that might make animals sick such as cigarette butts, instrument strings, plastic bags, paper, etc. Be sure your area is clean before leaving. Thank you.

• Bring your CAN TABS to the Information Booth! Our civic-minded web gurus, the Thirsty Lizards, will deliver your donated can tabs to a Shriners Hospital where they will help buy medical equipment for sick kids!
